Experimental study of electrostatic properties of lead styphnate with additives
Lead styphnate (LS), under all conditions must be considered vulnerable to accumulation and discharge of static charge. To reduce the risk aroused by static initination hazard in the processing and handling of LS, the antistatic modifation of LS is necessary. In this paper, the three common crystal control agents were applied to improve the antistatic ability of lead styphnate. The results show that sodium carboxymethylcellulose and dextrin can significantly reduce the electrostatic accumulation of LS.In addition, a possible correlation of electrostatic accumulation with assumption and approximation has been drawn from crystal control agent surface concentration. Finally, the electrostatic sensitivity, 5 seconds (5s) explosion temperature and thermal decomposition and scanning electron microscope (SEM) of the selected products were tested. In addition, the crystal control agents are preferably compatible with LS, and will not affect their thermal stability.
