Preparation and characterization of reticulate HNIW by Solution-mediated transformation
2,4,6,8, 1 0,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8, 1 0,12-hexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW) reticulate ε-HNIW, a promising high-energy-density material, were synthesized by solvent-antisolvent recrystallization.The metastable form β always was precipitated initially, and then transformed to the stable form by solution mediated process.The particle size and shape of ε-HNIW are predominantly determined by the anti-solvent.In addition, the ε-HNIW crystals are detected by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-1R) spectroscopy, Thermal analysis reveals that reticulate ε-HNIW results in a lower decomposition temperature and much higher decomposition rate.The results of electrostatic spark sensitivity indicated that its security is greatly improved.
