Susceptibility of hot wire EED against HEMP

  Electromagnetic pulse is a electromagnetic environment with fast rising time, short duration time, wide spectrum.Bridge-wire EEDs response of EMP effect is a form of electric thermal insulating state, the energy for initiation is much smaller than the DC or continuous wave.In this paper, analysis of electromagnetic pulse response for EED will be described, by comparing three different states, then ultimately come to the most worst case ; Make electromagnetic pulse (MIL-STD-461F standard waveform) effect test using some electric igniter, monitoring the current in time and studying the EED probability distribution of initiation quantitatively using the current measuring system composed of current probe, electro-optical conversion, optical fiber, and then, obtain the no-fire maximum pulse energy threshold, analysis the safety of pulse environment for the EED; At last, the paper provides some basic data for safety and effect principle research of EED in the EMP environment.
