Combustion features of high energetic double-base propellant with various contents of soot
In the present work influence of (0.1-5 %) fine soot particles (specific surface area =250 m2/g) on combustion rate and on temperature distribution in combustion wave of high energetic double-base model propellant containing 40 % nitrocellulose and 60 % nitroglycerine is investigated. It is shown, that depending on mass content and combustion pressure soot can either increase or reduce combustion rate, can render essential catalytic influence on exothermic reactions in gaseous zone, and also can reduce rate of thermal emission in the latter due to endothermic interaction with CO2 and H2O.Results of these researches are of interest for finding-out the effect of various other additives on the formation of combustion surface of propellants as well.
