Research on penetration effect of reactive fragment striking to moderately thick al-alloy targets
The penetration effect of reactive fragment striking to moderately thick al-alloy targets was studied. An experiment equipment was designed to study the penetration of single reactive fragment at different impacting velocity, and the penetration process of reactive fragment striking to al-alloy targets was simulated by means of the finite element analysis software AUTODYN-2D.It can be discovered that Al/PTFE reactive fragments have double damage effect with kinetic energy and chemical energy under the state of high velocity. The fragment ignites and releases energy in 1346-1645m/s impacting speed, and 3.41-6.51mm holes form on the 20mm thick aluminum alloy target. The numerical simulation results based on the experiment were tally well with the experiment results.
