Research on the Deformation and Stability of Homogeneous Earth Dam Based on FLAC3D

  The calculation and analysis on deformation and stability is the important content of the dams calculation and analysis.The research on the deformation and stability of homogeneous earth dam in embankment process was carried on based on FLAC3D.The layered filling 3-D numerical model was set up and the deformation was studied, at the same time, the strength reduction method embedded in the software FLAC3D was introduced to discuss the stability of the dam slope.The results show that the settlement is the predominant deformation and the numerical simulation result is closely related to the simulation filling layer number, even for low dams, around ten simulation filling layers are chosen to get reasonable settlement results; Relative to settlement, the horizontal displacement is less sensitive to the number of simulation filling layer.The stability of dam slope is not sensitive to the simulation filling layer number two, which has important guiding significance to determine appropriate simulation filling layer number on the research of deformation and stability of dam.
