Correct and Standardized Application of R-mode Factor Analysis on Identifying Groundwater Hydrochemical Processes in Sanjiao area,Loess Plateau of China
The bedrock fissure water of the Permian and Triassic is the only drinking water in Sanjiao area.The study area has abundant and various mineral resources.So exploitation of mineral resources must be result in changing groundwater quality.The study aims to carry out the factor analysis to assess the hydrochemical characteristics and recognize the effective factors and the hydrochemistry processes which have influence on the groundwater quality.Five factors were extracted by factor analysis.Factor It hat includes SO42-, Na+, K+, C1-and oxygen consuming reflected the water-rock interaction.Factor 2 with high loading on Cr6+, As and pH represents industrial pollution.Factor 3 including NO3-, Mg2+ and Ca2+ could be related to anthropological activity and cation-exchange adsorption.Factor 4 with high loading on HCO3-and F-could be characterized as the impact of hydrography.Factor 5 loaded on Fe and Mn could demonstrate eluviation.The importance of each factor was depicted spatially by contours of the factor score.For the health of local residents as well as the sustainable utilization of groundwater factor scores, it is essential to carry out long-term monitoring of local groundwater quality.This insight hopefully would aid in better monitoring and managing the groundwater resource for the administrative authority.
