The Application of Drop test in Gemology
The drop test and lipophilic can simply be used to identify diamonds and similar gemstones.Based on this, the paper concludes that sparse / hydrophilicity can be used in gem identification and research, and tries to explain the principles of gem hydrophobicity by analyzing the crystal structure of gems.The main conclusions of article are as follows: Synthetic moissanite and diamonds are non-polar molecules, so they are hydrophobic; other precious stones such as crystals are polar molecules, so they are hydrophilic.In addition, the article also raises issues related to applications of Hydrophobic / hydrophilic in gemology.
