Texture Analysis of Slag Films for Q235B Steel Slab Casting
The reasonable texture of the slag film for Q235B steel was confirmed through studying the slag films from industrial site.The results show that the layered structure of the slag film is mostly crystallized, the minerals are mainly akermanite, and a small amount of cuspidine and wollastonite.In the slag film, the akermanites distribute on the side of casting blank, the wollastonites distribute in the middle of the slag film, and the cuspidines spread in the glassy layer which on the side of crystallizer.The research results indicate that crystallization rate of the slag film should be improved, while the contents of wollastonite and cuspidine should be reduced to avoid appearing longitudinal cracks and sticking breakout in the continuous casting mold.
