Experiment Study on Hyperfiltration Filter Salt Effect of Disturbed Cohesive Soil

  To verify the clay membrane effect and desalting efficiency, it was conducted that a group of reverse osmosis experiment with the low water head about disturbed soil.Soil samples were collected from 30 meters deep aquitard of Luanhe River alluvial fan, and particle composition, pore characteristics and clay mineral content of the undisturbed soil sample were tested.Soil column was backfilled according to natural porosity ratio of the undisturbed soil samples, after saturation the constant head penetration experiment was conducted with 10g/L (0.1709mol/L) brine.At the end of the penetration test, Cl-concentration of inflow solution increases to 0.1897mol/L, and Cl-concentration of the outflow solution increases to 0.1919 mol/L, in addition Na+ concentration growth is significantly lower than Cl-.The largest Cl-concentration calculated at clay layer surface is 0.1856mol/L at the of steady state, the efficiency coefficient of clay membrane is 0.069.The experimental results show that the concentrated infiltration solution and the concentration polarization phenomenon of the clay layer surface both prove that undisturbed soil has a certain membrane properties, efficiency coefficient σ of clay membrane is negatively correlated with concentration, and is positively correlated with the ion exchange adsorption ability of the soil.Along with the increase in the infiltration solution concentration, membrane efficiency of the clay decreases.The natural disturbed cohesive soil has membrane properties that can make the solution concentrate at the side of high pressure, but cant play a role of rejecting salt as reverse osmosis membrane.This is consistent with the results which have been completed in the undisturbed soil infiltration experiment.
