Non-Martensitic α-Phase Formed in Sol-Gel & Reduction Method and Promoted Martensitic Transformation of Fe-Ni Nanoparticles
Formation of the non-martensitic α-phase in Fe-33.0wt%Ni nanoparticles in sol-gel and reduction method and its promoting effect on martensitic transformation (MT) behaviors were investigated in this paper.With three different reduction processes, the amount of the formed non-martensitic α-phase was characterized.Results also showed that the presence of non-martensitic α-phase led to a promoted MT with the Ms temperature of 188.1K and transformation amount of 37.3%.Less amount of non-martensitic α-phase result in austenite stabilization.The underlying mechanism of the formation of non-martensitic α-phase and its effect on MT were discussed.
