Single Crystalline V2O5 Nanowire/Graphene Composite as Cathode Material for Lithium-ion Batteries

The single crystalline V2O5 nanowire/graphene nanosheets (GNS) composite has been successfully prepared via an easy and facile one-step hydrothermal synthesis method.The morphology, structure and electrochemical performance of V2O5 nanowire/GNS composite as cathode material for lithium-ion batteries were systematically investigated by transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and a variety of electrochemical testing techniques.The V2O5 single crystalline nanowires were supported on the GNS substrate and exhibited excellent electrochemical properties.When used as a cathode material of lithium-ion batteries, the composite material revealed high initial discharge capacities and exceptional rate capacities.It was found that V2O5 nanowire/GNS composite exhibited a relatively high reversible capacity of 357 mA h g-1 and fine cycle performance.
