Predictive Analysis and Verification of Damping for Composite Laminates

  The damping mechanism and the forecasting methods of composite laminates are discussed in this paper.Based on the dissipated energy theories,the damping prediction analysis model of composite laminates is established at this paper.Considering the relationship of strain energy,dissipated energy and structural modal damping,the related calculation program is compiled by using the finite element method.Combined with the results of single-input single-output approach (SISO) experiments and finite element model,the modal parameters of the composite laminates can be obtained through the modal analysis in different boundary conditions.The comparison between the numerical simulation results and experimental results indicates the finite element model used in this paper is effective,as well as the damping prediction model and the damping calculation program.The works in this paper are relative simple and effective in the damping prediction of composite laminates.
