Adaptive Multiwavelets Via Lifting Scheme for Bevel Gear Fault Diagnosis
Different from parallel-axes gears, the bevel gears can change the direction of power transmission. So they are widely used in the transmission systems.Meanwhile, feature extraction of the faulty spiral bevel gears are quite difficulty because of its large overlap ratio as well as amplitude and frequency modulation (AMFM) nature. Therefore,it is urgent to develop an effective feature extraction method for this task.Multiwavelet with multiple wavelet basis functions and many excellent properties provides an effective tool to this problem. In this paper, firstly,an adaptive multiwavelet via symmetric lifting scheme was construct to decompose the original signal; secondly, the signal was reconstructed with chosen sensitive bands; thirdly, for extracting characteristic frequency, the reconstructed signal was demodulated based on Hilbert transform; moreover,an experiment was set up to verify the efficiency and reliability of this method.
bevel gears adaptive multiwavelets signal reconstruction Hilbert transform.
