Turbo-generator Shaft Alignment Using Strain Gauge Method:Model and Its Application on A 600MW Turbine Unit
Shaft alignment is the key factor determining the safe and reliable operation of a turbine unit.This paper presents an approach to estimate the entire shaft alignment using strain gauge technique.As the change of bending moment is linearly proportional to the change of bearing elevation and bearing reaction,bearing load distribution can be reversely identified from the strain values at several cross sections which are measured The transfer matrix method is used to calculate the detail alignment data.Compared with the traditional alignment method,this is an entire estimation approach with the shaft system completely assembled.Strain gauge technique was applied on the shaft alignment estimation of a 600MW turbine unit successfully.The measurements indicate that the elevation adjustment is reasonable and effective for the reduction of high temperature and vibration of #2 bearing.
