Dynamic Contact Simulation and Fatigue Analysis of a Differential Gear

Pitting corrosion is one of the most common fatigue failure of the gears,and the tooth surface contact and impact are the main factors causing the tooth surface pitting.In this paper,in allusion to the differential gear tooth surface pitting phenomenon,CATIA was used to build the parameterization modeling,using the finite element method,obtain the maximum contact stress under the maximum torque condition between the gears,and verify that whether its distribution is matched with the pitting point.Finally,use the maximum contact stress as a static input,the gear life was analysed to offer some reference to the optimal design of gear.
