Design and Analysis of Energy Harvester Based on Aeroelastic Vibration
In this paper, energy harvesting of a high aspect ratio wing with piezoelectric patches placed on its surface as energy transducers is studied.Structural model is firstly built via simplifying the structure of the wing and reducing piezoelectric equations. Then, aerodynamic force is added into the system where aerodynamic strip theory is used. Thus the whole aeroelectroelastic model is built.Thirdly, the power output when the system subjects to a specific exciting force which is similar to gust load is obtained.Parameters including both sectional dimensions and location of the piezoelectric transducers and external resistance that can influence the power output are also studied. The result shows that this theoretical modeling method can be competently used to analyze the harvester. Finally, the applicability of this kind of energy harvester is discussed.
