The research of joint flood control operation mode which is beneficial to sediment transport among cascade reservoirs
Based on a mathematical model of sedimentation for joint operation of cascade reservoirs, sediment problems of joint flood operation among cascade reservoirs as Xiluodu reservoir, Xiangjiaba reservoir and Three Gorges reservoir (TGR) in upper Yangtze River was researched in this paper. Through the analysis on the influence of the different schemes of joint flood operation on the reservoir deposition and flood control capacity, the relationship between the joint flood operation modes and the reservoir deposition and sediment transport was revealed, and a joint flood operation mode which is beneficial to sediment transport among cascade reservoirs was presented in this paper. The research results can give reference for the joint flood operation among cascade reservoirs in upper Yangtze River.
