Research progress of reservoir sediment in sediment-laden river
Domestic and foreign scholars have achieved a large amount of researches on non-equilibrium sediment transport of suspended load in reservoir, reservoir density current, reservoir head-ward erosion, flowing backward of mainstream and tributary, reservoir deposition morphology and so on, based on these results, by means of physical model and mathematical model, and they carry out research on reservoir optimal operation. Continuously successful development of the Yellow River water and sediment regulation in recent years is a concentrated expression of foundation research results, and at the same time, it also promotes the study of reservoir sediment. Along with the social demand, river water and sediment regulation system will be more perfect, and reservoir operation will pay more attention to the reservoir comprehensive utilization benefit, dual regulation of water and sediment, synergistic effect of the reservoir engineering system and so on.
