Metropolitan Innovation Mode:A Case Study of New York
People are already familiar with stories about innovation in Silicon Valley.It presents a specialized innovation mode,which is based on universities of science and technology.However,people pay little attention to another high-tech innovation center—New York.This paper points out that unlike Silicon Valley,which has strong science and technology universities like Stanford and Berkeley,New York presents a unique innovation mode.New York possesses a metropolitan platform with diversified resources and has the advantages of agglomeration effect and being close to market demand.This paper systematically analyses the industrial structure,universities,government,social networks,and HR and entrepreneurship of New York,and how these five aspects promote innovation.In the context of21st century industrial revolution,the revitalization of metropolitan innovation mode,New York as an example,is a new trend worthy further study.
