Ductility Evaluation Formula for Thin-walled Steel Structures Made of High Strength Structural Steel SM570
Rational ductility evaluation formulas for thin-walled steel structures made of normal strength structural steels like SS400 and SM490 were developed in the previous study.Recently the thin-walled structures made of high steel strength structural steel SM570 are becoming popular in practical engineering, and the need for evaluating the seismic performance of steel structures made of SM570 has come into focus.This paper propo ses a simple but useful ductility evaluation formula for such structures made of SM570.Local buckling is thoroughly considered in the failure criterion and can be neglected in the pushover analysis, which facilitates practical application.The comparison between the present results and previous ductility estimations leads to the validation of the proposed method.
