Parametric Studies on the Fire Resistance of Concrete-filled RHS Columns Exposed to 3-sided Fire

  Experimental and numerical studies have been conducted to predict fire behaviour of concrete-filled rec tangular hollow section (RHS) columns exposed to 3-sided fire.Parametric studies were carried out to ex tend ranges of concerned parameters affecting the fire resistance of concrete-filled RHS columns in 3-sided fire, namely cross-sectional dimension, load ratio, slenderness ratio and load eccentricity ratio.The results of parametric studies show that the cross-sectional dimension and load ratio have significant influence on the fire resistance, while the slenderness ratio hasIight influence.It is interesting to note that the load eccentrici ty ratio has obvious influence on the fire resistance within a limited range of eccentricity, which is a special phenomenon of columns in 3-sided fire.
