Design of a Wireless Fast Detection System for Bridge
This paper presents a Wireless Fast Detection System (WFDS) based on wireless sensor networks (WSN) for bridge structural vibration detection.The designed system consists of a wireless controller and wireless nodes with acceleration sensing units.The wireless node is designed by a modular method, which includes acceleration sensing units, an embedded low-power micro-processing unit, a wireless transceiver u nit, GPS receiver unit, and power management unit.etc.It is used for signal acquisition, data preprocess ing, storage, and wireless transmission.The wireless controller, equipped with high-performance computa tion unit, wireless transceiver unit, mobile power source and embedded data analysis software, can regulate wireless nodes, receive and analyze data for parameter identification.To verify the performance of the WFDS, experiments are made on the Xihoumen Bridge in China for inspecting the bridge structural vibra tion.Experimental results show that the system has the advantages of fast arrangement, high sampling rate,high resolution, and capacity of low frequency detection.So it has good application prospects and practical value.
