Experimental Study of Structural Damage Detection Method Based on the IMPSCO Algorithm

  The standard particle swarm optimization (PSO) is easy to fall into thelocal optimum and such deficen cy also exists in the multi-particle swarm coevolution optimization (MPSCO).So far advanced PSO algorithm have received considerable attention.This paper presents an improved MPSCO algorithm (IMPSCO), which is integrated with the Newmarks algorithm to locate damage and predict the extent of damage.To validate the proposed method, an experimental seven-story steel frame was employed to detect damage.The results show that the applicability and effectiveness of the proposed technique in detecting damage.
