Wind Tunnel Experiments of Wind Loadings on Super-large Cooling Towers
To find more properties about the wind loadings on super-large cooling towers in natural wind, wind pressure measurements (mean as well as fluctuating components) were made on rigid and aero-elastic scaled models in the wind tunnel experiments.The so-called equivalent beam-net design method for aero-elastic models of cooling towers was proposed in this paper.The surface fluctuating wind pressure was analyzed in circumferential direction and some stochastic characteristics were presented here.By comparison of the re suits from rigid and aero-elastic models, the effect of the self-excited forces on the surface wind pressure of super-large cooling towers was also discussed in this paper.
