Feasibility of flaxseed fiber bundles as reinforcement in green composites
This study involved the chemical composition analysis and tensile property of the flaxseed fiber bundles for their potential useful applications in green composites.Composition analysis further proved the different percentage of components as compared to the common flax.Flaxseed fiber bundles were treated with NaOH 10 g/L.SEM test was adopted to investigate the surface morphology of both untreated and treated fiber bundles. The results of alkaline treatment showed surface improvement/roughness of the fiber bundle.Evaluation of tensile property of untreated and treated fiber bundles revealed acceptable results. This investigation provided the fundamental data for the potential applications of Flaxseed fibers bundles as reinforcement in green composite materials with comparable and acceptable properties.
