Proactive monitoring on the free formaldehyde level in textiles
The free formaldehyde content in textiles has been legally limited in China since the implementation of national mandatory standard GB 18401-2001 Textiles-limit to Formaldehyde.Supported by the testing results from 2011 and 2012, the free formaldehyde content in textiles demonstrated low levels in recent years.However, some problematic items that exceeded the limits for free formaldehyde in a higher frequency call for attention from the manufactories or suppliers producing or purchasing textiles.It is concluded that only proactive monitoring throughout the whole supply chain can assure the product safety concerning the free formaldehyde level in textiles.
