Process Analysis and Upgrading of the Typical Wastewater Treatment Plants in Xi an

  In accordance with the requirement of the Standard A of the first class in Discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plant(GB18918-2002) for effluent from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) in Xian,site survey and water quality analysis for three typical sewage treatment plants in Xian (Xian No.3,No.4 and No.5 Wastewater Treatment Plants) are performed to ascertain factors limiting the standard A of first class reaching.The processes of the above wastewater treatment plants are analyzed on aspects such as distribution of microbial population in activated sludge in biological tank,sludge activity and operation condition,to find out the problems of each wastewater treatment plant.The results indicate that the distributions of microbial population in activated sludge in biological tanks of the three plants are normal,overall sludge activities are relatively good and yet the unsatisfying operation conditions are the main factors adverse to nitrogen removal and phosphorous removal of the processes.Upgrading and transformation scheme was put forward to solve the existing problems of the three wastewater treatment plants.
