Pretreatment of Amination Wastewater from Amantadine Production Using Ultrasound-Fenton Combined Process

Ultrasound-Fenton (US-Fenton) combined process was employed to pretreat amination wastewater from amantadine production for decreasing TOC value and reducing biological toxicity. It was proved that the wastewater TOC significantly reduced with US-Fenton process. The optimal reaction conditions for US-Fenton combined process were: initial pH of 3.0; H202 dosage of 2 mol/L,Fe2+ dosage of 0.1 mol/L,and ultrasound energy density of 5 W/ml.Under the optimal conditions, toxicity analysis,excitation-emission matrix (EEM) spectroscopy detection and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) detection of the three kinds of effluent after different processes of pretreatment were compared. Results showed that the US-Fenton process effectively reduced the organic matters in the amination wastewater and the compounds with aromatic structures can be broken to a large extent.
