Characteristics and Preparation of PVDF/Fe3+/Cu2+ Catalytic Membrane
The polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF/Fe3+ and PVDF /Fe3+/Cu2+catalytic membrane were prepared by the phase-transfer method. They were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),mechanical intensity, water flux,Pepsin retention, porosity and contact angle etc.The catalytic activity of PVDF/Fe34- and PVDF/Fe3+/Cu2+catalytic membrane were evaluated by the degradation of refractory dye Orange IV in the presence of H2O2.The results show that the addition of appropriate Fe34- and Cu2- in the preparation of PVDF membrane has greatly improved some properties of the membrane such as microstructure, hydrophilic property, and water flux etc.The catalytic activity of PVDF/Fe34to decompose H2O2 can be increased with the increase of the content of Fe3+ ion.The PVDF/Fe3+/Cu2+membmne had a better catalytic reactivity to decompose H2O2 compared with PVDF/Fe3+ membrane. When the content of Fe3+ion is 1.14% (mass ratio),the content of Cu2+ ion is from 0% to 0.26% (mass ratio),the discolorization rate of Orange Ⅳ in this Fenton-like oxidation is from 90.21% to 98.37%.This kind of PVDF/Fe3+/Cu2- catalytic membrane can effectively decompose H202 to degrade Orange IV in water.
