Preparation and Characterization of Polyurethane (PU)/ Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Blending Membrane
In this paper,we presented a new method to prepare PU/PVDF blending membranes via the method of thermally induced phase separation (TIPS).The structures and properties of the blending membranes were characterized by contact angle tests,FT-IR,atomic force microscope (AFM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).Comparing with the direct addition of PU polymer or semi-finished PU product, the introduction of PU by individually adding A and B monomers could achieve better permeation results. The PU/PVDF blending membrane obtained with 16-18% of PVDF.50% of DMP and 2% of PU showed better hydrophilicity.FT-IR results indicated that new chemical bonds were observed on the surface of the blending membranes.Comparing with the pure PVDF membrane, the PU/PVDF blending membrane exhibited slightly higher mechanical strength.AFM tests indicated that the surface roughness of the PU/PVDF blending membrane was lower than that of the pure PVDF membrane.DSC tests showed that the crystallinity of PU/PVDF blending membrane membrane decreased with the introduction of PU polymer.
