Study of the Operation Mode of the UF System for Refining Ginkgo Biloba Flavonoids
Ginkgo biloba flavonoids (GBF) have been proved to be a kind of medicine which is good for people' s health. The ultrafiltration (UF) technology has been studied in refining GBF; however, membrane fouling is a major problem in UF process. In addition to the chemical cleaning, operation mode is one of the main methods to control membrane fouling. To optimize the operation mode, the effects of runtime, backwashing period, backwashing time on the stable flux were investigated, and five operation modes were compared, which included: up feedstock-up backwashing up feedstock-down backwashing down feedstock-up backwashing down feedstock-down backwashing and up feedstock - up backwashing-own feedstock-down backwashing operation mode. The experiments' results showed that the stable flux was actually in proportion to backwashing time and inversely proportional to backwashing period and runtime when the ultrafiltration system worked in the up feedstock-up backwashing operation mode.Comparing to other operation modes, the up feedstock-down backwashing was the best operation mode with backwashing period of 20 minutes and backwashing time of 40 seconds.
