Preparation of the Adsorbent for Trace As (Ⅲ) from Water and Study on the Removal of As (Ⅲ)

Not only the outlet of wastewater containing arsenic wastes lots of resources, but also influences the safety of drinking water. So the treatment of the wastewater has always been an important project in the world environmental protection.Using spent grains modified by PAM as adsorbent for As (Ⅲ),the technical bottleneck of traditional process that As (Ⅲ) need to be oxidized to As (V) was broken through in this paper. When pH was 6,reaction time 2 h,dosage of modified spent grains 3 g/L,initial As (Ⅲ) 0.1 mg/L,the concentration of As (Ⅲ) in effluent can meet the Standards for Drinking Water Quality (GB5749-2006) standard 0.01 mg/L.Influence of coexisting ions showed that cations such as Cd2+ and Fe3+ can promote the adsorption capacity of As (Ⅲ) by modified spent grains, while anions such as F,N03,S042,P043 inhibit the adsorption capacity. The adsorption process of As (Ⅲ) with modified spent grains obeyed the Freundlich adsorption isothermal equation.
