Removal of Aqueous Arsenic Using Abundant Boehmite Coated Zeolite

  The potential use of synthetic boehmite coated zeolites for the removal of arsenic from water has been investigated.The boehmite coated zeolite was characterized by scanning electronic microscopy and X-ray diffraction.Additionally,experiments were conducted to examine the extent of arsenic removal as a function of pH,absorbent dose,coexisting ions.The adsorption behavior followed the Langmuir isotherm model.The kinetic process of adsorption was well fitted with the Elovich equation.The boehmite coated zeolite showed great performance on the aqueous arsenic removal.
