Preparation and Catalytic Properties of Fenton-like catalyst based on diatomite
A new heterogeneous Fenton-like catalyst was successfully prepared using diatomite as carrier and loaded solid superacid and its catalytic activity was evaluated by the degradation of refractory organic matter Rhodamine B in the presence of H202.The optimal preparation conditions such as roasting temperature,roasting time,roasting atmosphere and different preparation methods were discussed.Diatomite-solid superacid Fenton-like catalyst was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM),X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).The results show that diatomite-solid superacid Fenton-like catalyst has optimal catalytic activity on the conditions: roasting temperature 500 ℃,roasting time 3h,aerobic atmosphere and by coprecipitation method.Comparison test shows that diatomite-solid superacid Fenton-like catalyst has better catalytic activity than diatomite-metal oxides.The decolorization rate of Rhodamine B is 97.63% at Rhodamine B (0.5 mmol *L-1) 50 mL,pH=3,15 mmol *L4 of H202,degradation temperature 15℃,degradation time 6h.The decomposition rate of H202 is 92%.XRD patterns show that there were obvious diffraction peaks of Fe203-S042 on the diatomite after the loaded and SEM patterns show Fe203-S042 solid superacid was loaded in diatomite firmly and uniformly and FT-IR pattern indicates diatomite-solid superacid has the properties of super acid.This diatomite-solid superacid Fenton-like catalyst provides a new application of diatomite.
