Research on the Texture and Powdering Resistance of Industrially Produced Galvannealed Coating on High Strength IF Steel

  The microstructural and textural aspects of the coatings on industrial galvannealed high strength interstitial free (IF) steel with different galvannealing temperature have been investigated by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM),X-ray diffraction (XRD),glow discharge optical emission spectrometry (GDOES).Then 60 degree V-bending test was carried out to study the powdering resistance behavior of the coatings.The results showed that,for the galvannealed high strength IF steel which have been studied,when the galvannealing temperature is 500℃,the surface of the coating is consist of δ and ζ phase while the majority of which is δ phase; when the galvannealing temperature is 550℃ and 580℃,the surface of the coating is consist of δ phase; when the surface of the coating is consist of δ phase with little ζ phase,the powdering resistance behavior is well; the appropriate galvannealing temperature is between 500℃ and 550℃.
