Investigation in Influence Factors on Dent Resistance and Stiffness of Automotive Panel
This paper studies the dent resistance and sinking stiffness on different deforming area of automotive fender using IF steel,P-added steel,BH steel by experiment.Some influence factors were considered,such as the strength of steel,panel geometry and curvature,process condition,bake-hardening characteristics.The result shows that the dent resistance and stiffness can be improved by increasing yield strength of materials,bake-hardening characteristics,forming under tension condition and Shape design of panels.The paper provides guidance for material choice and process design of automotive panel.
