Effect of Soaking Temperature on Microstructure and Properties of Dual Phase Steel Containing Niobium and Vanadium

The effect of soaking temperature on the microstructure and properties of dual phase steel containing Nb and V was investigated by a continuous annealing simulator. Results indicated that the strength of samples decreases with the soaking temperature rise. The decrease of the strength was mainly attributed to precipitate particles coarsening and the ferrite grain size growth in samples after annealing.Obvious banded structure was observed within samples after annealed,it was mainly attributed to hot rolled strip structural inheritance. After optimal annealing process, the microstructure was composed of polygonal ferrite and massive martensite (12.8%),and the test steels have excellent mechanical properties: R p0.2=330 MPa,R m=725 MPa,δ=21%,R m×δ=15370.
