Analysis of 500MPa Grade Dual Phase Steel and Application for Lightweight Outer Panel
To meet demands of improving dent resistance and light weight for closure panels,dual phase steel with excellent mechanical have been being used gradually in outer panels.Based on the material science theory,the composition and process of cold rolled DP500 were designed properly.The microstructure and mechanical properties of DP500 were analyzed with optical microscope,SEM,tensile testing machine.The coating property was analyzed using phosphate test.Forming property was studied using BUP600 forming test machine,and door outer panels were stamped.The results show that the microstructure of CSiMnCr cold rolled DP500 steel are equiaxed ferrite and Island martensite and the content of martensite is about 8%.The steel has much excellent Characteristic,including low yield ratio,high formability,high bake hardenability,good dent resistance,excellent coating performance.Cold rolled DP500 can be directly replaced bake hardening steel for automotive door outer panel and other closure panels.
