Experimental Study on the Particulate Emissions and Unregulated Emissions of DI Diesel Engine Fueled with Ethanol-Biodiesel Blended Fuel
Because of 10% oxygen content, biodiesel could produce more NOx emissions than fossil fuel. The higher NOx emissions of biodiesel could be reduceded by blending with ethanol, according to the fuel design concept. Based on the previous study, this paper focus on the effect of ethanolbiodiesel blended fuel on particulate mass concentration, particle number concentration, particle size distribution characteristics and unregulated emission. It was found that with increase of ethanol in ethanolbiodiesel blends, PM mass and number concentration could be reduced, while formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and unburned ethanol emission could be enhanced.
