A linear relationship between net primary production and biomass of spotted mackerel in East China Sea?
We examine the relationship between biomass of spotted mackerel and net primary production (NPP) by using catch and effort data from the large purse sense of China fishery.The results show The NPP derived from SeaWiFS data by using VGPM algorithm have significant quadratic polynomial relationship with standardized CPUE (Catch per Unit Effort).However,the NPP derived from MODIS data or estimated by using Eppley-VGPM algorithm don’t have similar relationship.
