Paleoclimate and East Asian monsoon environment evolution of the Miaodao section in the Bohai Sea coastal zone since the last interglacial

The Miaodao section,to the northwest of the Miaodao archipelago in the Bohai Sea coastal zone, has a geological record of environmental variations since the last interglacial period. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of proxy paleoclimatic indices, including Mz,SC/D,CaCO3,magnetic susceptibility,SiO2/Al2O3 ratio,Rb/Sr ratio,CIA value, and (Al2O3+TOFe)/SiO2 ratio,it was determined that the Miaodao section has experienced 12 short-scale cold-dry and warm-humid climatic fluctuations over its depositional period. The results of these analyses indicate that the sediment of the Miaodao Section is controlled by the East Asian monsoon and resulting sea level fluctuations, revealing global climate change response in the Bohai Sea coastal zone.
