Influence of Tourmaline Mineral Material on Structure and Physical and Chemical Properties of Water
The influence of polar crystalline tourmaline on the structure and physical and chemical property of water in direct action and indirect action was researched by the solid/liquid independent device to isolate tourmaline and water.The results showed that far-infrared rays from tourmaline could react with water molecules, and the hydrogen bonds were weakened through resonance; The far-infrared spectra of water treated by tourmaline in the solid/liquid independent device was compared with that by direct contaction.The far-infrared of tourmaline played a more important role in changing hodrogen bonds than electric field and negative ions of water.Surface tension of water in the solid/liquid independent device was decreased after the treatment of tourmaline, and the decreased degree went up with the rise of temperature; the dissolved oxygen of water was increased by 7.8%, the conductivity 9.8% and the evaporation rate 10.4%.In recent years, the decrease on structure of water clusters has been researched by scientists and engineers 1-3.Shimokawa etc.treated the mixture of CaCO3 and black SiO2 as infrared radiation source and used X-ray diffraction to study the influence of infrared on the structure of water molecules, the results proved that water clusters after treatment were decreased 3.The hydrogen bonds between water molecules could be destroyed by applied energy such as electric field, magnetic field,acoustic wave, infrared rays, etc, so that the network system of hydrogen bonding could be affected and the internal structure of water could be changed.Tourmaline is a kind of natural polar silicate crystal minerals.Water can be electrolyzed by the strong electric field on its surface.Thus the pH value of water shows alkaline 4.Tourmaline has a strong ability of far-infrared radiation 5, 6.It can activate water molecules and improve the photo-catalytic activity of TiO2 7.When tourmaline was placed in water, the half peak width of oxygen nucleus NMR (17O NMR) changed narrower and association degree of water molecules reduced 8.The surface tension and permeability of water could be affected 9.Ruan Dong prepared the cellulose / tourmaline nano-composite films.By observing its DSC curves, it was found that some hydrogen bonds between cellulose molecules could be destroyed by tourmaline 10.In theory, the internal structure of water may be affected by the permanent electric field and far-infrared radiation from tourmaline.So far, there have been many references based on the role of water molecules treated by tourmaline or its products at home and abroad.However all the results were achieved by direct water treatment from tourmaline or its products.These results could not give a reasonable explanation what mechanism of activated water was from Tourmaline/Plastic composites, etc.
