The Effects of Entrepreneurial Stories on Price Unfairness and Reaction of Entrepreneurial Activity System
The effects of artifacts on entrepreneurial outcomes remain poorly understood. We compare the effects of two artifact-identity story and competence story-on (1) the likelihood that a new venture intends to use a positive or negative price unfairness,and(2) entrepreneurial communitys reactions to these perception of price unfairness. We find that firms that have accumulated a large sum of identity claiming stories (high identity claiming firms) are more likely, and firms that have disseminate a great deal of stories about its achievement and competence ( high competence claiming firms) are less likely to utilize positive price unfairness than firms without these artifacts. Both identity story and competence story owners experience greater network rewards for positive price unfairness and smaller network penalties for negative price unfairness than other firms.
