The Determinants and Entry Modes of China FDI

摘要：

　　Based on more than 55,000 foreign firms in China from 1979 to 2004, this paper examined how five determinants (host country experience, cultural distance, industry asset intensity, foreign investment and location -specification) would affect on choices of four types of entry modes.Compared with prior studies, this paper found some consistent results and some completely contrasted results.Further analysis showed that the contrasting result was the reason of industries of sample firms.This lead to our finding that industry has a contingent influence on entry mode choices.This paper evidenced that how factors would affect foreign finns entry modes choice and highlight the contingent impact of industry.
