Measures to Manage the Scale Risk and Structural Risk of Foreign Exchange Reserves

　　This paper examines the measures to manage China’s foreign exchange reserves.In recent years,China’s foreign exchange reserves grew fast.In the background of current financial crisis,holding such huge foreign exchange reserves faces scale and structural risks.Huge foreign exchange reserves raise domestic inflation rate and the pressure of RMB appreciation.The structural problems of foreign exchange reserves increase exchange rate risk and opportunity cost risk.This paper summarizes the scale and structural risks and characteristics of Chinas foreign exchange reserves,analyses the causes,and finally puts forward the corresponding management countermeasures.
