Regional Intellecutal Capital and Regional Economic Development An Empirical Research Based on Liaoning Province
21 century is the knowledge age.Intellectual capital (IC) should be the fundamental driving force of the regional economy,not only rely on the physical assets.This paper makes a quantitative study on regional intellectual capital (RIC) of Liaoning province during 1995-2008.It is found that RIC and the growth rate of regional economy are positively correlated and the correlation coefficient is notable.Such four components as regional human capital,regional relation capital,regional structure capital and regional innovation capital of RIC have a notably positive correlation with economic development.In addition,it makes factor analysis on every ingredient of the RIC.Then,we make suggestion on how to promote the RIC to improve the development of regional economy.
