52°North WPS and its application in fire emergency response

  This paper researches the feasibility of real-time processing data from Sensor Web by means of Web Processing Service (WPS),which isnt dependent on the platform of the traditional monolithic GIS.On this base,an actual solution is provided to configure and transform some monolithic GIS services into accessed web services,at the same time the customer could automatically get data offered by Sensor Web and simulate processing up-to-date information to obtain desired results in client-side,which could visualize quickly to provide critical and timely help for users at crucial moment.The applicability of the solution is demonstrated by a fire scenario in which we employ WPS framework of 52North project and the client-side is OpenLayers.
