In Vitro Inhibitory Effects of Inonotus obliquus Extracts on Mushroom Tyrosinase
The mushroom Inonotus obliquus (Ach.ex Pers.) Pilát has been traditionally used as a folk medicine in Russia,Poland and most of the Baltic countries. In this study, the purpose was to elucidate inhibitory kinetics on mushroom tyrosinase activities of Inonotus obliquus.Four extracts were evaluated for inhibitory effects on mushroom tyrosinase. The petroleum ether and n-butanol extract exhibited significant inhibitory potency. While the former was identified as a noncompetitive tyrosinase inhibitor, the later was a mixed-type inhibitor. The monophenolase activity IC50 values were estimated to be 0.93mg/ml and 0.87mg/ml,respectively.In the contrary, the ethyl acetate extract contributed to the progress of mushroom tyrosinase activities, mainly containing inotodiol, trametenolic acid by HPLC analysis. However, the aqueous extract had no effects.
