A Review of the Chemical Metabolites and Their Activities from Myxomycete

　　Chemical metabolites and their activities from myxomycetes (slime moldes) were reviewed.About 100 natural compounds from 29 species of 5 orders in Myxomyestes have been reported.Among them structures and biological activities of several compounds have been clarified.They are fatty acid,amino acid,alkaloids,naphthoquinone,aromatic compounds,terpenoid,esters and their derivatives.Some of them have biological activities.Therefore,slime molds produce useful compounds and important natural resources.However,their investigations are still required because slime molds have unique life styles and are expected to produce many useful metabolites for our life.
